Our Munich office has won the 1st prize in the idea competition for the New Center of Großkarolinenfeld, Germany combined with the realization competition of the New City Hall.
Großkarolinenfeld is currently missing a defined center of the town. The design of Behnisch Architekten proposes to create a series of situations, places and buildings to make the center of the town more perceptible. The old and new city hall become part of the new Karolinenplatz, completing the city center. The ground floor of the New City Hall contains the public functions (citizen services, meeting rooms and registry office for weddings), is open and transparent. The more private zone comprising the administration is located on the first floor.
