We are members of the Architektenkammer and BDA in Germany, the SIA in Switzerland, the AIA and NCARB in the USA, and the RIBA in the UK. Our team is licensed to practice architecture in all the aforementioned countries and can deliver services according to their respective standards, as well as French and Italian regulations. When working internationally, we typically use English as the project language but can also deliver projects in French.

The success of any project depends on well-defined goals. Our practice has extensive experience in preparing detailed briefing documents through careful analysis of client objectives and applicable regulations (Phase 0 / LPH 0 strategic briefing). The programming should reflect the inherent organizational needs and promote efficiency by optimizing layouts, enhancing the quality of the working or living environment, and addressing other relevant factors. All specific programmatic requirements should be clearly identified alongside their respective standards, operational or working processes, and required levels of flexibility.

Analyzing client requirements can be a complex process. However, assisting our clients with site selection, program definition, local condition assessments, financial criteria, procurement options, specialist involvement, and preliminary discussions with local authorities can lead to a highly refined design brief that provides a reliable foundation for future project development.

We have collaborated with several industrial partners to design lamps and lighting objects, chairs, office desks, meeting tables, tableware, and other everyday items. While these designs are typically developed for specific projects or clients, we also occasionally create products at the request of our industrial partners.

In Germany, traditional practice requires architects to provide comprehensive cost consultancy services. Evolving databases, benchmarking, and strong connections with a wide range of contracting companies ensure that our cost control mechanisms are continually updated in line with industry developments. When required, this valuable experience enables us to perform such tasks across all our projects, adding value and promoting cost awareness throughout the design process.

As general planners, we provide services to our clients either through our own in-house resources or through our long-standing partnerships with engineering firms.

Behnisch Architekturbüro has extensive experience using BIM modeling software platforms. The use of Revit in our planning process maximizes the benefits of Building Information Modeling and Integrated Project Delivery throughout design and construction. As a result, we have significantly enhanced our coordination with sub-consulting teams, strengthened internal communication, and increased our ability to quickly produce in-house visualizations of project geometry and systems integration.

We provide urban design, public realm design, and campus design services, either in-house or in collaboration with partners, depending on the project’s location and type.
