We are proud to announce that the Karl Miller Center, Portland State University, has been the recipient of a LEED Platinum Certification, an Honor Award from the AIA New England and an Honorable mention from the IIDA Oregon chapter.
The USGBC (U.S. Green Building Council) has awarded our building with the LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Platinum Certificate. This means that the Karl Miller Center has scored enough points to reach the maximum certification level (more than 80 in a 0-100 rating system). Such certification takes into account not only the design and construction of the building, but also it’s operation and maintenance program, which also play an important part in environmental responsibility and efficient use of resources.
Another award was dispensed by the AIA (American Institute of Architects) New England. The jury conferred the building an Honor Award, that happens to be the highest level prize for this year.
The third achievement comes from the IIDA (International Interior Design Association) Oregon chapter. The organization awarded us with an Honorable Mention.
