In June we celebrated the opening of Pioneer Elementary School in Hanau – and we were thrilled to be part of it!
"The opening of this school is a historic moment for our city," emphasized Mayor and Head of Social Affairs Dr. Maximilian Bieri. "With the 'School in the Pioneer Park', we are creating urgently needed school places and sending a strong signal for integrated educational opportunities, sustainable urban development, and social infrastructure."

The school is located at the eastern edge of the Pioneer Quarter, a sustainable and climate-friendly residential development on the grounds of a former US military base. The new elementary school is designed for three classes per grade and includes a sports hall, after-school facilities, and outdoor spaces that connect beautifully with the nearby Kleine Bulau woodland. Together with the already completed nursery, the school forms an architectural and educational unit that strengthens the sense of community and identity in this new urban district. A central courtyard between the two buildings opens toward the landscape and serves as a shared space for outdoor learning, play, and community events.

We're excited that the school is now officially open and wish all students, teachers, and staff a fantastic time there!
