How many harbors do we want to achieve? Developing possibilities for Stuttgart’s waterfront.

12 February, 2019

On Friday, February 15, Stefan Behnisch will be participating in a discussion on the future of Stuttgart’s waterfront and its possible shift from an industrial space towards a public area.

With more than 3 million tons of goods passing through every year, the Stuttgart harbor represents one of the most important commercial and industrial hubs of southern Germany. During its inauguration in 1958, Theodor Heuss—the first President of the Federal Republic of Germany—was also present. Today, the headquarters or branches of over 50 companies are located here.
Steffen Bilger, Parliamentary State Secretary at the Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure will hold the kick-off speech. In addition, Andreas Hofer, Director of the IBA 2027 for the City of Stuttgart, Carsten Strähle, Managing Director of the Stuttgart Harbor, and representatives of Stuttgart’s partner city Strasbourg will be joining Stefan Behnisch in a panel discussion.

The event will take place on Friday the 15th of February, 18:00 at the following address:
Waldheim Hedelfingen,
Heumadener Straße 110,
70329 Stuttgart-Hedelfingen
Germany
