Project update: The Vagelos Laboratory for Energy Science and Technology

04 December, 2020

The Vagelos Laboratory for Energy Science and Technology has received design approval from the University of Pennsylvania Board of Trustees. The facility includes highly functional, flexible, and efficient wet chemistry and optics research labs bringing researchers from the School of Arts & Sciences and the School of Engineering and Applied Science together to solve scientific and technological problems related to energy. Prominently situated at the Walnut Street gateway to the University of Pennsylvania the building also provides a complement of collaborative spaces and offices with a new landscaped courtyard.

The project calls for a highly sustainable building representative of the research it pursues and will be a model of low-energy laboratory design, demonstrating Penn’s commitment to both environmental and operational sustainability.
