Things are moving forward in Münster: Timber frame construction for the extension of the Fachhochschule has been started!

22 February, 2023

With renewable building materials and resource-saving use of existing infrastructure, Münster University of Applied Sciences is expanding the Fachhochschulzentrum (FHZ) on Corrensstraße. Behnisch Architekten, in collaboration with Berghaus Architekten, are planning a new upper floor in timber construction for the existing building, which was built in 1974 and renovated in 2014. The interiors ceilings will be made of clay and deliver the space cooling & heating whilst naturally regulating the humidity. On the outside, the roof will be covered with a photovoltaic system and additional greenery, which protects against heat in summer and serves as additional thermal insulation in winter.
