We are happy to announce that our project Living on the Altmühl riverside has won the first prize in the Housing category of the World Architecture News (WAN) Awards.
The ceremony was held in London on the 20th of November. The building is barrier-free and it offers 50 residential units as well as spaces for the university of Eichstätt distributed around a courtyard, the location allows outstanding views of the Altmühl river and Willibaldsburg castle.
Balconies and loggias characterize the façade which is cladded with wood lath and plaster.
Designed to reach a KfW40 energy efficiency, the bulding has been realized with prefabricated facade components, increasing on-site efficiency while also maximizing thermal performance by providing insulation between the construction of the external walls.
