The workshop is intended to contribute to the professional and social integration of disabled people who are unable - or not yet able - to find a job on the so-called “free“ labour market.
To fulfil this role, the building must meet various requirements. On the one hand, practical issues have to be addressed, such as appropriate access and sanitary facilities. On the other hand, formal and architectural aspects also require careful consideration.
While disabled people in their everyday lives are often treated as the exception, whether in their family or circle of friends, here in this workshop they are in a community of equals. And the building affords the opportunity of strengthening this feeling of community.
