Secondary School Ergolding

Ergolding, DE

The new secondary school in Ergolding is conceived as a compact and open campus that connects learning, community, and landscape. It creates a clear architectural identity while responding to its location at the edge of the town.

Level 0, 1, 2

The building is organized around a central, light-filled assembly hall that forms the social and spatial heart of the school. Entered from a car-free forecourt, it provides clear orientation and connects all key functions, with administration and staff areas located on the ground floor. Teaching spaces are arranged around this core, creating open galleries, flexible learning areas, and group rooms. Circulation zones act as extensions of the classrooms, supporting interaction and contemporary learning formats.

Specialized areas, including science classrooms, are located on the upper levels. All classrooms are oriented to the north for consistent daylight, while natural lighting and ventilation ensure a comfortable environment. The school is closely integrated into its landscape, with strong visual and spatial connections to outdoor areas. This creates a coherent and flexible learning environment with a clear architectural identity.
